General information
Welcome to the PECS 2008 Conference and to the City of Liverpool.
PECS promotes cooperation between coastal engineers and coastal oceanographers,
to exchange information on recent developments in the physics of estuaries and coastal seas.
Young scientists and engineers are encouraged to present and test their ideas.
This International Conference is a biennial event organised by the PECS advisory board and the local committee.
The PECS 2008 Conference is hosted by the Proudman Oceanographic Laboratory and will take place in the
Foresight Centre at the University of Liverpool from Monday 25th to Friday 29th August 2008.
No smoking It is against the law to smoke in any enclosed/semi-enclosed public place in the United Kingdom.

Parking
Parking in the City Centre is very limited, especially during the working day; parking within the University precinct is normally restricted to permit holders only.
Local public transport is, however, frequent and inexpensive. Walking to the University precinct from the City Centre takes about 10 minutes.

The Proudman Oceanographic Laboratory is located on Brownlow Street between Pembroke Place and Dover Street
(building No. 259 on the University of Liverpool Precinct plan) and
opposite is the Foresight Centre (building Nos. 359 & 354).
